This past fall we headed out to Stowe, Vermont for Katherine & Vin's wedding weekend and it was definitely a highlight of our year. Katherine & Vin and their families and friends were so warm, genuine and loving and it was so inspiring to be part of their big day.

You won't believe this wedding took place in San Diego!! It was the first wedding ever at this stunning private estate and everything about the look and feel of it was inspiring! And the design by Victoria Lee Schroeder and Blush Botanicals was absolutely gorgeous! And to make the day even better we got to work with our friends The Youngrens and AirPro Makeup! Wow! What an amazing wedding weekend to be part of. A few years ago we filmed Melissa's sister's wedding and we loved getting to know their family and friends. There is so much love with these guys and boy do they know how to party! Susanne Duffy and the vendors involved in this wedding really outdid themselves. They constructed a temporary platform for the wedding tent in the backyard of the family's lake house and the space was absolutely stunning - it truly was an epic party under the stars! :)

It is an honor to be part of each and every wedding we film but it is an even greater honor when someone in our industry asks us to part of their day! Over the years we've worked on countless weddings with Alex from Blush Botanicals and her amazing creations have always astounded us! So when she asked us to film her wedding at the beautiful Rancho Valencia, our answer was a quick, "Yes, please!!" Obviously the flowers for her wedding were insanely gorgeous on their day but it was seeing her and Issa together and their effortless love that really made the day what it was! Ashley and Ryan's day was incredible for so many reasons: the beautiful design, the gorgeous light throughout the day, the intimate backdrop of Calamigos Ranch... But, it was their love for each other, the love of all of their family and friends, and the love for their son Cade that really makes their film come alive! We did a few engagement photos for them in San Diego and of course couldn't help but record a little video too. The two are so in love - made our job easy!! When we posed as a couple for an inspiration shoot at the New Children's Museum a few years ago, we fell in love with the space and design, which is one of the reasons we were so excited to film Rachel & Kyle's wedding! We LOVED a lot about this wedding but the highlights were the design and unique details that were carefully crafted by Luxe Events and Isari Flowers, the incredible AirBnB wedding party got ready in, and the couple playing with colorful smoke bombs (a first for us to capture)!

This was our last wedding of 2016 and it was the perfect way to end the year - a beautiful day in November, a wonderful team of vendors to work with and a couple with so much love and energy that it was just a joy to be around them! We loved the decor and colors for this wedding designed by Thomas Bui Lifestyle and Blush Botanicals. Rich reds and burgundy with tree and flower centerpieces - it was so romantic!! We also loved the energy from the Siren Crush Band! Check out the video above full of heartfelt toasts, flower girls and ring bearers with bubble guns and a magical sparkler exit!

We were really excited to film Evelyn and Shinji's wedding at the beautiful Rancho Las Lomas! We had been there a few years back to do a behind-the-scenes fashion shoot for Ceremony Magazine and we loved the unique location! Aside from the incredible backdrop, the wedding day could not have been more perfect as these two are one of the sweetest couples we've had the pleasure of working with. Enjoy! :)
2016 was by far our craziest year thus far! We were fortunate enough to start the year with a five week trip to Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. We filmed for 35 days straight and kept a video journal of the entire trip and we plan to release the long-form documentary version of that trip later this year (hopefully)! In Italy we attended a family wedding and were introduced to some secluded spots from the locals in Puglia before we headed to the Amalfi Coast where we were blown away by the beauty of Positano. Our wedding videography business (Quixotic Weddings) took us to New York, San Francisco and other destinations throughout California. Inspired by the time lapses we captured of the NYC skyline, we also decided to sneak away for a couple days to Joshua Tree to film Milky Way time lapses. It was truly an incredible year and we feel so grateful for all the experiences we've had and all the wonderful people we met along the way. Here is our attempt to capture the adventure in 3 minutes! :) Throughout the year we filmed with 6 cameras: Sony A7Sii, Canon 5Diii, 5Div & 1DXii, iPhone 6s and GoPro Hero 4 and surprisingly we were able to blend the footage fairly well! We filmed a lot of the year in 4k so we decided to make this our first 4k video. Hope you enjoy!! Music licensed through The Music Bed

We don't often get to do passion projects but when we do, we try to go big!! 2016 was a wonderful year for us in a lot of different ways but if we boiled it down to one word to capture the essence of the year: travel! We were lucky enough to start the year traveling around Asia, spending weeks in Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. Later in the year, we attended a family wedding in Italy and made a nice trip out of it, traveling from coast to coast, falling in love with the country every step of the way. In addition to our international travel, our weddings took us coast to coast in the US as we shot our first NYC wedding as well as weddings up and down the California coast. And to top it all off, we managed to sneak away to Joshua Tree to film some Milky Way time lapses as we lounged in a hot tub drinking wine! 2016 is a year that will never be forgotten but we can't wait to see what adventures await us in the 2017! I don't think we have ever laughed as hard during vows as with these two - they're hilarious! But underneath all the jokes and laughter is a love that runs deep - you can see it in their eyes when they look at each other and you can feel it permeated throughout all of their friends and family! We released the trailer for Jess & Evan months ago and we didn't know how we were going to be able to make a feature film that lived up to the epic-ness of the trailer, but I think we did it! This wedding was big and grandiose on a scale that we seldom see and it is very fitting for NYC! We feel so lucky to have been part of their celebration and wish them all the best in the years to come!
